There's a recurring theme with the trainers in this particular Pokemon game (Ultra Sun), that's really subtle/red-pilled. There's female trainers called "back-packers" that by their own admition are just traveling the world and seeing where they end up and what "adventures" they find. When you beat them or any trainers in battle, it's customary that they pay you some cash but female backpackers basically complain about their woes of not having money or losing in general. The male trainers that are similar are called "Hikers", except these guys specialize in climbing mountains and when you beat them they actually congratulate you and mention how strong you are.
