It's also what you're free from. You don't have to watch idiot TV shows with your SO. You don't have to go hang out with her friends or family. You don't have to go shop for crap you don't need.

And most of all, you're free from interference in your activities. You can buy, not buy, do or not do whatever you wish, however you wish.

All of this results in free time for whatever you wish, which is wonderful! You also don't have to spend money on a woman; we all know money goes from male to female and not the other way.

You are also free from shit tests, hectoring and all manner of abuse. Most women eventually become abusive if you stay with them long enough, especially if you wife them up.

Which reminds me, you're also free of badgering for more commitment.

Imho, most men today are fairly submissive. A woman in your life will make this worse. Being submissive (especially in your own living space) is bad for self respect, self esteem and positive self regard. These are possible in any circumstance, but the way most boys are raised now I think it is probably more difficult with women around. So, as a MGTOW, you can wind up feeling much better about yourself! Nobody is trying to "take you down a notch" (actual quote from my ex-wife, describing her motivation for shitty behavior.) I was lucky because I say how retarded my ex-wife's criticisms were, and they didn't get me; however, I don't think a millennial could have withstood it.

Im happy for you dawg. Had the day off and went on a two hour walk through thr woods, explored this creepy ass house I never had the nerve to go in, smoked some weed, shot m16 and glock with my dad, played the new Doom game, did some squats, hit the punching bag, browsed my favorite subreddit [this one!], read some HP Lovecraft, and looked into a new career opportunity [Park Ranger] and couldnt be happier. I get to do anything I want, if I can afford it. Sleep in, make the food I want, do the cleaning and laundry when I feel like it and never have to clean up after a lazy bitch.

That's an amazing day you had. Keep it up. This past Saturday I cleaned the entire house (vacuumed, mopped) made an amazing beef ribeye and spinach salad, caught up on some photo editing, and watched a couple of episodes of Halt and catch fire season 02 (brilliant show).

A female friend came over Friday Night and it looked like she was trying to hang out all night so when she got there I told her I had to leave back to work at 9:30pm to fill out some paper work and she looked a bit shocked, but I wasn't gonna be spending hours talking to her that night about "blah blah blah, I hope I get to suck on your titties later...." bullshit. She left, I went back inside and made an amazing rack of lamb, and watched Halt and catch fire's season one finale.

I still don't understand why some men feel like their life sucks because they don't have a chick next to their side at all times. That basically means no nagging, no bullshit, no distractions from doing things you actually like to do.

So many compromises are made when you get into a relationship, and they're usually not in the male's favor.

I'm still glad to have female friends but no more trying to treat them different from my really good guy friends just because I'd like to smash that ass. That has just caused headache after headache. Some people get into that type of drama and think they're living their own reality show. I don't do drama and my time is all mine now... And it feels fucking great

Just got back from the Galapagos. I didn't even book a hotel, just landed and looked around until I found something I liked. Took trips to the various islands as I saw fit. Ate where I wanted, meandered through the towns and had a really great time just doing my own thing like taking photographs. I can't imagine having to cater to a spouse to ensure she's happy all the time. I mean could you envision telling your wife/gf, "We're going to land in some strange place and we don't have a hotel booked, but that's OK.".

I'm visiting a big city this month to do some training for work, and they are putting me up in a great downtown apartment with an incredible view of the city and waterfront. Today, after work, I did some reading on the terrace, then had dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant. Afterwords, I came home and watch TCM (they were showing the original Parent Trap... Super blue pill!) while studying some for the CFA. Afterwords, I did some more reading for fun, and then hit the gym. I'm sitting in bed now, reading reddit and enjoying hearing about others great nights as well.

There's something special about having money in your pocket, good food in your belly, strong goals that motivate you, and the freedom to pursue your passions. These nights have been feeling rather blissful lately...

I had all those things and more for many years but was still unhappy inside for some reason. Then I got married, had kids, got divorced and have all those things again but am not unhappy anymore. It was the kids. For me, personally, I needed to spread my DNA and get that out of my system in order to enjoy the rest life has to offer.

I didn't wanted to start a thread just to write that but it's a positive thread so it fits. I'm so happy to have found the mgtow movement.

I started having these ideas that something was really wrong with male/female relationships nowadays after 2 bad experiences with my gfs and having witnessed friends getting destroyed by girls.

I'm 25 and all I do now is working on my business, I want to build long term assets online as websites and apps, improve many of the skills required in that field.

My objective is to make a shit ton of money and enjoy life with real friends who care about me and not some fucking bitch drinking my energy and resources.

But still, I'm a human, when it comes to relations now I just want to pump and dump. Any relationship will stop before cohabitation level.

My only regret is that I would really like to have a son whom I could pass experience, knowledge and business to.

Mid 30s, no kids here.

Left my place of employment about a month ago and have less than a month left in my apt. I've sold off or have given away things that I don't need and have sold off things that keep me in debt (i.e., the car).

The freedom that I now have is enormous. The limits imposed are purely financial. My current focus in life is to explore, but more importantly, to enjoy the landscape that the world has to offer, starting in my own country (the US).

For now, I've invested in expanding my camping/hiking equipment and also have a small (but relevant) savings. I'm going to see how far that takes me. I am not worried about depleting my savings because when that time comes, I'll go work a job for a few weeks to get me back to traveling again. I have always been a very hard worker in life and have plenty of former employers and recommendations to back that up, should it be needed.

I'm going backpacking, gentlemen. Everywhere.
