There was a documentary on AI on TV the other day and how it will affect the world, jobs, relationships. It's pretty scary to think about the prediction that 800 million jobs that we currently do are predicted not to exist in 15 years. And majority of the jobs that are being taken over by AI? Blue collar male jobs and low ranking white collar jobs.

take a look at this one, type in male jobs (carpenter, laborer, welder, truck driver) vs female jobs (teacher, nurse, caretaker, social worker, HR manager). The difference in the chances of male jobs becoming taken over by AI vs women's jobs is crazy.

Here's a few more links, although you can find hundreds more articles online. When AI is taking over predominantly male jobs, AI are soldiers, AI are doing most of the physical work, typical female jobs will flourish because they have the most 'social' jobs and people need to socialise. When we have artificial wombs women won't even have to stay home while pregnant and their body won't react in the way pregnancy makes them react and they will therefore be bonding less with their kids due to the lack of hormones from no childbirth.

I predict that in less than 50 years men will be the ones staying at home and taking care of artificially grown babies while women work and a lot of men will be relying on women for economic stability because their jobs would have disappeared. It could be a complete gender role reverse in the west. Women will no longer be put on a pedestal because they aren't necessary for reproduction (besides donating their eggs) and men's physical abilities won't be valued either as those jobs become obsolete.

It's interesting to think about. We get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget how fast the world is changing at the moment.
