(late 1980s - early 1990s in a conservative US town.)

Women’s hypergamy was almost completely on finding a man with a stable career or wealth. Many women just wanted to find a good stable husband so they could start a family. Not much pressure on women to have careers, and although the option was there for them, most decided to just stay home.
Women generally didn’t set sky high standards for dating (like a minimum height requirement). Popularity/social skills mattered but I didn’t know many guys back then who weren’t at least dating someone. Today’s Internet dating has skewed the whole dating market to where average guys can’t find anyone, while top tier guys don’t have enough days in the week to date all the women interested in him.
Women who slept around were labelled diseased-ridden whores. When I say “sleep around” I mean 3 or 4 guys, not 50 guys. Even other women would ridicule these sluts. This was partly due to the HIV panic during that time. You just didn’t date a woman who was known to date (or sleep with) many men. The average young woman’s sex life today would be considered a porn star life back in the 1980s.
Women have always been self centered, but back then they were more modest and discrete about it. Today’s women take 20 pictures of themselves a day, declare themselves a princess and post erotic poses of themselves online to thirsty men. All this, again, would be considered a dirty porn star lifestyle.

I graduated college at 21. When I was your age I had been working for several years. In college, I had a long term 3+ year relationship with a girl I thought I was going to marry. She ended up moving clear across the country. I dated a bit after, and eventually became disgusted with women. I typed into a search engine "American women suck", and I arrived at NiceGuy's site, where I became a mod and stayed for many years. I was a MGTOW, although I didn't know the word for it. Eventually I found reddit, and this sub.

20 years ago there wasn't so much animosity from women toward men. Feminists were laughed at and scorned. Women did not have huge entitlements and sky high standards toward dating men.

Things have gone downhill in a big, no, HUGE way.

Social media has sped up the decline.

Now instead of people who know you expressing an opinion on your actions, you can find a group of like minded people who reinforce whatever you want to be.

A complete lack of checks and balances on behavior. And since women are so much more prolific on social media, it made them worse faster.

I don't believe we would be where we are with 3rd wave feminism without Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and snapchat.

As long as they were young they didn’t know about their calling to enslave the ones they allegedly “love”. So their “feels” seemed more real in my youth. But beginning 20s they all have been the same. Except for the fact that feminism wasn’t in their heads.

I'm 52...the younger women today dress like the hookers did in Vancouver and Montreal back in the late 1980s. We tended to know each other even casually before we would have sex (even for a one night stand)--so the guy knew the woman's background. We definitely didn't pound the women we knew were really promiscuous--we made fun of them...as well as the guys who caught the clap from them.

It's so weird. Back when I was coming up I had to work to find the freak goth chicks..cause I for sure did NOT want to settle down.

Fast forward a few decades and every chick around has ink, shaved or colored hair, piercings and is poly/bi/dtf.

Sometimes I think God is fucking with me about how the timeline is turning out. Women have..en masse.. adopted my preferred aesthetic and sexual habits.

Smartphones just gave me a way to "read" in public without looking geeky with a book, and to jam out in public (which is how the Hunt starts).

I never intended to get serious or married so this suits me just fine. I hate it for society and or my fellow men though. Geez..why did they have to get fucked while I got superblessed!?!
