Quick rant.

One of my (19M) closest friends (20M) recently had a girl (20F) “slide into his DM’s”.

A few weeks later he tells myself and a few other close friends that he has a girlfriend, we assume that’s the reason he’s been too “busy” to do anything with us for the past month.

A few days ago she tags him in a post on Facebook and it turns out:

SHES A SINGLE MOTHER AND LIVES 75 MILES AWAY, HE DRIVES TO HER SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK TO SEE HER AND HER KID.

I don’t really know how to feel right now if I’m honest, I can’t believe his naivety and lack of perspective.

Dating a single mother in another city? c’mon dude, I thought you were smarter than that

Tl;Dr: one of my closest friends travels hundreds of miles a week just to see his girlfriend. A single mother.

Edit: I’ll update everyone later to what happens, thanks for the responses. He knows what I think about relationships, I agree with most that it’s best he leans the hard way, thanks.
