Gentlemen,

I am looking for your advice and experiences with regards to mobile app development.
I am a professional c# .net developer with an idea for an app. I won't the new Facebook or anything, but I hope to make a modest living with it and quit my soulsucking day job.

  • The application has to run as a mobile app for iOS and Android, but also as a website.
  • The backend will consist of an API made in c#.
  • I am not a JavaScript expert, but I feel comfortable developing in it.
  • A few years ago I worked on a project of AngularJs with PhoneGap, but I'm not quite sure if this is an advantage or disadvantage.
  • Since I decided to use a framework that is (fairly) popular, I have narrowed my selection down to React native and Nativescript with Angular.

There are plenty of articles explaining the pros and cons of the different frameworks (community, performance, plugins, etc), but I am looking for your personal experiences. What do you like or dislike about the framework you use, and do you have any tips or things to take into consideration at an early phase of the project to prevent problems later on?

Every small piece of information or your personal experience would be much appreciated!
