Oh, don't forget that because of Prohibition, the rise of the Mafia from borderline street hustlers to nation-wide cartels capable of shifting national events to the highest echelons of society became possible, with all it's associated crime and vice (such as prostitution).
Oh, and the Kennedy's got rich off of Prohibition, which allowed an entire clan of philanderers rise to political power.
