I sat through OSHA-led training today (job safety training in the US for those that don't know) and one of the presentations discussed fires (I work in a highly controlled environment with various CBRN threats). During the presentation, multiple examples of work place accidents involving the deaths of specifically women and children were brought up. Obviously the vast majority of dangerous work is done by men, but they didn't even put them in the statistics. These accidents were especially tragic because "of the loss of many women and children". Zero acknowledgement and appreciation for anything we do in any field.
