Because "she deserves more"
[–][deleted] 41 points42 points43 points 7 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
I don't understand women and this concept of "deserving". Like "I deserve a good man" or "I deserve a big house" or "I deserve to be treated like a queen".
The universe has no favorites, life is hard, nobody deserves anything. You get what you work hard for, and even then you don't always get what you want.

This is a consequence of product placement for women, "you deserve to be beautiful with this 40$ make up" and it's also due to tv influencers, rich people paid just to talk about themselves and how cool they are.
By nature women are envious of what other people have.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's a strange way to think, as i've never compared myself to others. I don't care what others have. I know I worked hard for everything I have, which is why I have the nice things i have.

I can, when I was younger and brainwashed in leftists and religious propaganda I believed that the way the world works was that the government take care of your life(food, home, school and health) and God would take care of destiny (things out of people control including a partner that would love me). Long story short, most of my life was wasted waiting life do it's thing because I didn't "needed" to do it, a job would appear, good life and a soulmate because god and society had my best interest in mind.

Man what the fuck are kids taught these days, that is nothing like what I or my friends were taught when I was young, we were mostly told that if you want anything in life you gotta get off your ass and work for it and the government will mostly just get in your way but they were a fact of life you have to deal with.

I think they believe in some sort of cosmic karma that perpetuates the universe putting wrongs right. So, if their boyfriend dumps when he caught her cheating (it was his fault, he should not have checked her phone) then this karma thing will mend her broken heart... sorry, I mean wallet, by sending her someone even better.
Girls at school should be sent on a special course teaching the causality.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I apologize because I don't want to get into a whole thing here, so please just tell me to shut up if this it too off topic for this sub.
But I honestly think the whole "incel" identity is self-inflicted. I mean, even WITH the horrible women this sub showcases on a daily basis, almost any man on this planet can get laid by SOMEBODY, even if they have to pay for it. Ergo, not "involuntary". There are a million fetishes or types of attraction out there, and surely even the "incels" could fit into one of those demographics.
Just my two thoughts, anyway. Again, if this comment seems off topic or ignorant, then I apologize. I am not trying to start a flame war.

[–]autoeroticassfxation4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Mate, the average woman sees the bottom 80% of men as below average. That means the average dude is shit out of luck, and the top 10%-20% have women lining up these days. Just because you're slaying doesn't mean that an incel can get laid. If you've spent your whole life being rejected by women your physical equivalent, it's enough to make them pretty uncomfortable around women, and there's no quicker turnoff than a lack of confidence, virginity for dudes has a pretty nasty feedback loop. There's plenty of incels out there. I know one personally. And it's far worse to virgin shame a dude than it is to slut shame a woman. The woman had a choice.

About 15 years ago I worked with a large lady in her 30's. She was a single parent mother, and very large. She was a nice enough lady, but had unrealistic expectations, and said she will only consider a man if he is "amazing, really amazing" with his own BIG house, fancy car, well paid job, tall etc.
I asked her out for coffee, genuinely as a friend out of pity... she declined as she didn't feel I was "amazing" (she loved that word) enough to seen out with socially.
I bumped into her a couple of years ago, she was now even fatter... like... double in size. She was stuck in a low paid office job, basically broke, still single but now had depression because she could not find a man.
I told her how my life was, successful Software Developer, earning lots of money, job of my dreams, home of my dreams etc. She smiled, her eyes brightened, she asked me if I fancied going out for a drink with her.... I said no, and walked away. Not in a bad way, just the fact that I had to be somewhere else that was more important.
When she was less fat, she could have landed a really good man, she had actually had a really nice personality, but her unrealistically high expectations (maybe just delusion) means she shunned potential relationship with really good men. Now she's in her late 40's, broke and depressed and no man wants her. I think she genuinely regrets her bad life choices (ie turning down good men) and knows she made her own mess.
[+][deleted] 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
She was definitely bitter about men, but also desperate for one.
[–]CreativeThought885 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
You took the high road, but a "No. You're not amazing enough to be seen socially" would've been sufficient revenge.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I was tempted, but to be honest I pitied her. She was actually a nice girl, a good heart, just sadly had been lead to believe she was some sort of goddess by the media.
[–]CreativeThought884 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
This is where im conflicted. They all seem like they have "good hearts" until they show their narcissism when they obviously looked down on you. She really believed that you were less than her. That's doesn't seem like someone with a "good heart" to me. You seem to be fooling yourself.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Hmmm yeh I see your point.
I guess I felt like we were on each others side's because she was bullied by thinner girls at work (witnessed it a few times, saw her break down crying) so this inflated ego thing may have been her way of coping.
It could be she never got ANY attention from men, so this "i'm holding out for Mr Amazing" narrative was her way of dealing with the loneliness.
I did feel her for last time we met as she developed a sense of desperation that you could see in her eyes, and also developed depression which was clear to see.
[–]CreativeThought882 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I understand and you seem very empathetic and sensible. I just hate when someone else's misfortune and ego becomes an attack on me personally. That's something I could do better with, but you seem to be on the right path in that manner. I wish I could stop taking things so personally instead on seeing them as people acting out because of their own personal problems.
I guess I got out of the habit of taking things personally from pretty much anyway, became detached.
The point I remind myself is women have a nature, they follow that nature, they have no choice, hypergamy is a powerful force that drives them like a machine.
Probably the only thing about their behaviour that ever bothers me is when they get angry because I don't pay them attention. You can see it even in the street when one walks past and you look straight ahead, as they walk past you'll notice them give you an angry look because you did not check them out... and it bothers them that they did not get that attention.
Other than that, I hold no grudges against any woman, that would be like holding a grudge against a scorpion for stinging... it's in their nature.

Roll that whale back into the ocean, mate!
LOL :-D
[–]WanderlustYouth1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
The thing that pisses me off the most is surprisingly not her expectations but women's inability to better themselves and wanting someone to save them.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Interesting you mention that, as in the 10 years apart she actually got bigger and fatter. If she wasn't fat she'd have been a decent girl, as she has a genuinely nice personality.
As for me, I joined a gym, took up weight training, went on the keto diet and became a successful Software Developer with my own riverside cottage.
It's to true that women age like milk, whist men age like wine.
[–]WanderlustYouth1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Yup I feel as if men (not all men of course) on average have an innate drive to better themselves. Most women I know hardly exercise, or even study things outside of whats required to study. Hell I even bet that most of the stuff you learned software wise was out of school, because you wanted to have mastery over it, and saw you could use it as a means to produce resources. Most women from what I can tell stop reading outside of whats required once they find an average paying job.
Spot on, i'm almost 100% self taught simply because coding is my obsession.
At work the female Developers refuse to do any self study outside the office, I on the other hand relish every new language and tool.

This is why I dont bother mentoring women/girls.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of saying no when a female Dev joins the company and I have to train her up.
It's interesting that a person can spend 3/4 years at University studying computer science, and graduate without knowing even the basics of computer programming, some not even knowing what a variable is.
If I spent 4 years and 100k studying CS at Uni level and graduated without knowing how to write the Hello World program, i'd sue the Uni and ask for a refund.
So when I do have to mentor a new starter, I go through a specific routine, jump right into the code with a Hello World type program, and expand it with IF statements, sub routines, maybe ad a while loop... then re-write it as an OOP program (you basically can't work at this company without grasping OOP). I then move into debugging and add a bug in the program and show how to use the debugger to step through the code. Finally, i'll show them optimization, how to investigate performance issues in the code and fine tune.
Of course they never learn it, they never go away and do their own practicing, they never spend their spare time creating their own projects to really learn the language properly, and they still end up getting someone else to do their work for them (note: never me, i point them in the right direction).
I still do what I have to do anyway and cover the basics of programming required for the job, as long as i've covered my back I don't care.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well yeah, you don't have a choice there; but you do have a choice what you do on your own time. If a young man is trying and needs a hand up, talk shop afterwards at the pub. If you ever get called out on it, say you are scared of being misconstrued for sexual harassment, which is why you dont buy women drinks.
You know something, i've experienced that with a number of male Dev's and we've become friends outside work as a result.
One comes over to my house on a regular basis and we spend the evening examining code, trying new things out. Typically something work related that is not part the job [yet] but may be required in the future.
We share a pint a my local as well, I guess you could say it's a Codedate.
