I had a girl as a friend that did this with me and another guy friend of ours. She had previously dated one of my good friends who up and left the state on her with another girl. She's back with him now and he has no fucking clue at all. I really didn't think they would get back together. I think what most men are missing is emotional fulfillment. You can get that without a woman by following your true desires and working to make YOURSELF happy. Then, women start to show up in your life. It's almost like they were created to work to destroy men and suck the life and energy away from us. They can be tempting no doubt, but once you learn the truth, it's all too easy to spot and get away from.
