At my old workplace we had to have unisex toilets for a couple of weeks as the ladies were being renovated. Sure as shit the fucking manager sends around an email complaining that we are leaving the toilet seat up and no closing the doors when taking a piss in the toilets. FFS woman, you're a grown arse adult with two working arms, put the toilet seat down yourself.

This has always bothered me, are they literally dive bombing on to the seat?! I've taken many shits in my time and even when I REALLY have to go I'm still clever enough to check that the seat is down and not covered in piss or shit. Based on the stories some girls have told me about girls washrooms they should be doing the same so I honestly don't know/understand why they can't look for and adjust the toilet seat to fit their needs.

Quick question for my kin.

I've always been the type to not bother. Equality and all that jazz. If it's down I'll lift it and if it's up she can lower it.

Recently I made this point to a friend of mine that happens to be a nurse. Instead of the usual rhetoric of 'we fall in!' or 'it should always be down because we both need it in that position' I was met with an unexpected counter.

She claimed that, women get urinary tract infections at a much higher rate because of the nature of their opening being exposed. She claimed that, when a girl has to touch the bacteria laden under side of the seat to lower it, and then wipes with the same hand, they inevitably wipe said bacteria into themselves in the process. So either deal with a girl getting infected constantly or lift the seat for them.

I was at a loss. First time in 17+ years I've been unable to counter with logic.

Thoughts?
