You have to just laugh at the narcissism. You have a work that's been around for millennia. Due t resources, etc, the ancients would generally only focus on preserving the notable works, so it's definitely the best thing of it's age. It's been studied for millennia as well, and the Illiad is generally understood to be something of a 'Full Metal Jacket' for the bronze ages, and the Odyssey is a metaphor for the trajectory of a mans life.

So in true SJW fashion, they don't create anything worthwhile, they just take a beloved classic and turn it to shit.

This sums up the insanity of this woman who, in an attempt to dumb down and politically correctify an ancient piece of work through the eyes of a feminist SJW, ruined the essence of the work.

I and other Odyssey fans were excited by Wilson’s opening line: “Tell me about a complicated man.” In its matter-of-fact language, it’s worlds different from Fagles’s “Sing to me of the man, Muse,” or Robert Fitzgerald’s 1961 version, “Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story / of that man skilled in all ways of contending.” Wilson chose to use plain, relatively contemporary language in part to “invite readers to respond more actively with the text,” she writes in a translator’s note. “Impressive displays of rhetoric and linguistic force are a good way to seem important and invite a particular kind of admiration, but they tend to silence dissent and discourage deeper modes of engagement.”

Her version really sounds boring and not true at all to the original. They keep prattling on about the need to showcase racism, slavery, patriarchy, ect. and in doing so she used a very direct language. The problem with that is though that it loses all nuance. It loses the passion that the original has.

A translation is the process of translating words or text from one language into another.

If some feminist SJW wants to 're-imagine' a story then good luck to her. If she is seeking to distort the original text to highlight some fucking wymmens feelz then this IS NOT a translation!
