Alright, first off I'm a brand new user to Reddit, but I wanted my first post to be on the MGTOW subreddit since I ghost here quite a bit. Anyway, since everyone on here seems to be quite knowledgeable about a variety of subjects, I thought I would ask you guys about smart phones.

To be honest, I've never owned a smart phone. I've always had a flip phone, and got a Net10 plan for 30 days with 1000 minutes at 40 dollars a month, where you buy the phone card in a store then just input the security code thing on the card to get your minutes. However.... I want to join the smart phone generation, but have absolutely no idea what I'm looking for. I'm completely and utterly ignorant on the subject, so I'm afraid a sales representative might take advantage of me if I try to buy a phone with no knowledge. So, I'm gonna make a list of what I'm looking for in a phone and hope that someone can offer advice I would really appreciate it. I'm asking you guys because I feel like I could get the best price since MGTOWers seem to know a lot about saving money and getting a good deal. I hope a question like this is allowed on this sub, but it seems like all kinds of things are allowed on here so I thought I would give you guys a try. Anyway, here's what I'm looking for in a phone.

-A phone (I believe it's called an Android) that can run so called .APK files. I think APK stands for application.

-A phone that can wirelessly connect to my Time Warner Cable internet modem.

-A phone plan that is reasonable for 40 - 50 dollars a month, preferably something that isn't a long-term contract. You know, something like Net10 or something similar that anybody knows about.

-A phone that I can connect to my desktop computer so I can transfer files around, and how that can be done. (As well as whether or not I'll need a wire to transfer files from my computer to my phone.)

I'm sorry if I'm asking something like this in the wrong place, but you gentlemen seem like the type who wouldn't try and offer me bad advice on a subject I literally know nothing about.
