My record is 54 downvotes on AITA. That is just for a comment. I guess I am an asshole just for commenting. I also get lots of downvotes on r/canada. I think the MGTOW mindset is not in step with the great reset.

The more opinionated/critical I was, the more I got downvoted. If I go to a gaming sub, and said i didnt like a certain thing about a game, they were more likely to check my profile and see my posts and hold that against me and refuse to stay on topic. Reddit is filled with phagz

I think MGTOW is an okay movement, but I also believe that sometimes it can use a little more subtlety. I don't appreciate it when members of MGTOW tell other men to not date or not "bother with women". I think we should take a step back and look at the foundation of everything. And that foundation is you.

From the moment we are born we are all indoctrinated to think we are worthless, that our lives mean nothing and the only thing we should care about is other people. We've been indoctrinated to think that thinking for yourself is wrong. We've been indoctrinated to think that loving yourself is arrogant, egotistical and self-centered. Think about it for a second. If a teacher in class says he want an essay next week, the students immediately start asking questions. About what subjects? How many pages? Do we put pictures in?

So why do kids do that? Because they've been told that they can't think for themselves. If someone says that he/she finds him/herself attractive, that person immediately gets scolded.

All of this is our biggest sickness in society. Everything we've all been indoctrinated with since we were little is sick and has corrupted our minds. TV ads prey on this sickness all the time. "Buy our newest hair dye to cover up your gray hairs and be attractive again!" Implying that you're ugly with those gray hairs and if you buy their product you'll feel better. We are bombarded with this crap all day every day. Society tries to transform you into the person THEY want you to be.

Now, we need to flip the script. Its time that we all start loving ourselves. Consider ourselves the most important person in our lives. When we succeed at that, we don't need anything else. This part is where I support MGTOW. Lift up the spirits of the men who are lonely, who are suffering, who are being told they're not good enough. Build their confidence. Men, you can cry. I know society tells you that men who cry are pussies, but let me ask you something. Who has the bigger balls? The man who pretends to be tough and hides behind a mask? Or the man who is not afraid to show his weakness to others? Love yourself for who you are, that includes your emotions.

What I disagree with MGTOW on is the speeches where they tell other men they don't need a woman or company. And that they shouldn't date. That is a bad thing to do because it's basically shutting doors. What I say is to open the door to dating and meeting other people and women, but don't step through the door until you love yourself first. If you don't have love for yourself, what love can you hope to share with someone else?
