Best thing you can do is go in and explain your situation. Do it in person with some dignity and class. That might be enough to impress him and convince him to give you another chance. Other than that, there really isn't a whole lot of advice to give.

Not showing up at work for a week without any kind of notice doesn't bode well. Maybe if your boss is a very patient man or you have a damned good reason. I'd say cut your losses and go find another gig.

As management at a large company, honesty and transparency is absolutely required if you care about even having a shred of a chance of going back. Deception won’t fix any of it. No guarantees, but don’t throw away your integrity to cover your ass.

It’s likely considered job abandonment. Depends on the firm, their policies, relationship with your leadership, and your record as an employee. You’ll be on a short leash if they keep you, but they may not have a choice.

When human mistakes are made, it’s less about fucking up vs how you deal, learn, and prevent it from happening again.

I agree with the others. If you tell him the truth, and it's something like you lost your sense of purpose, he might understand, and take you back. Your boss might've had the same experience when he was younger, so he might be able to sympathize.

I'd recommend to say an apology for not being able to even phone in, and that you're a raging alcoholic.

Thank him for taking a chance in hiring you, and you will find another job elsewhere.

If by some miracle where you still have a place there, then take a video of yourself dumping all your alcohol down the drain, and sign up for some AA class or something.

otherwise, if your boss was terrible, now's the time to clear the air and move on.

I agree with the truth, you will be in major shit, but most guys have been there. He may understand and give you a one time pass, or he may sack you. Either way you fucked up and should own that.
