So, I've been divorced and going my own way for a few years now and I occasionally date when I get the urge. I live in a relatively upscale area of the suburbs by myself and with my daughter when I have her. Most all of the neighbors around me are married families with kids...your typical Jones'. When I'm working outside I try to be as friendly as possible and chat with my neighbors if they walk by. The guys in the houses near mine always stop to talk for a while or wave if they go by. The women however basically ignore me and act as if I don't exist. I've waved at them before and usually get a half ass wave in return and then immediately look the other direction. I've even tried to make small talk when they were walking their dog and they give a 1 or 2 work reply and keep walking. I think I'm done attempting any more communication with them. Not sure of the reason for their behavior...I could see if maybe it was only one of them, but it's every female neighbor. Lol
