I just finished watching Stand By Me for the first time in quite awhile. It is such powerful movie but I couldn't help but notice how the movie has changed for me over the years: from that sense of adventure, to now and the last line in the movie “I never had any friends later on, like the ones I had when I was twelve…Jesus….does anyone?”.

It makes me wonder if a movie will ever be made that my boys can identify with as much as I do with this one.
