Day trading is a losing game for 90%+ Because most people react emotionally to the market. It's fine to play a bit to get the feeling of it. Just don't put in what you can't afford to lose. It is also very complex as there are several things you have to look for. Technical analysis, charts, candle sticks, volume, support and resistance price fibonacci, ichimoku, psychological sentiment etc. If you want to learn, then read and apply. Start on tradingview for example. However it is very risky to enter any position now and it's gambling at the current market conditions. A weak dollar and a lot of debts worldwide, along with printing money out of thin air will eventually lead to hyperinflationm

Right now I think precious metals are the best investment. Silver and gold bullion (no stocks!) Silver is severely undervalued compared to gold. Currently trading at a 1:85 ratio. This is also REAL money proven for thousands of years and a hedge for inflation. Essential to keep in your portfolio. Whether it goes up or down it never goes to zero. Best to start buying this now. Or start taking smaller positions in crypto.

Day trading is idiotic. Moreso for someone that is a complete market novice. Some of the smartest people in the game are only right about 60% of the time.

Be broadly diversified, buy with a 10+year time horizon, Buy more monthly.

It's a scam. No effort money is a conmans game. Of course he'll dress it up as something with some skill involved, but if he could do it himself he wouldn't tell you about it or need to sell you something.

What you described isn't day trading and most wouldn't recommend to start out with day trading, since you're basically gambling with a zero sum market against pros who know exactly what they're doing. Day trading is highly stressful, you must have live price tracking, be essentially glued to your monitors, buying and selling the same stocks sometimes many times in one day... Vast majority of people lost money day trading, maybe at the very most 10% of traders succeed at day trading.

If you're going to get into stock trading fairly regularly without having to sit at your computer all day from market open to close every day, I would recommend swing trading. You need to learn how to do technical and fundamental analyses and be able to form lists of potential stocks - usually in an excel sheet - that you'd "watch". Basically, learn all you can about how to find stocks and practice with a play money, simulation account as you research strategies and whatnot. If you're very low on starting capital, you could look into call/put options.

I can not give adice. and have bad track record with trading and stocks.
In 2014 I tried derivatives trading / CFD; higly leveraged. I lost all I put in (around 5000 dollars). I basically betted on gold and sliver going up; and I witnessed the greatest overall drop in gold and silver since decades.
ATM, I started investing around 100/200 dollars per month 2 years ago, I put it into etf's/funds and mainly stocks. I'm at this moment, 1200 dollars loss/down from my input.

I also bought crypto peercoin this year (and the end of last year. For around 300 dollars. that is also way down, maybe worth at this moment 100 dollars if I'm lucky.

Basic advice. Do the opposite of what i do.

Set up a TradingView account. It’s free. Research RSI, MACD indicators to start and go from there. Crypto is great for day trading

Im doing it with robin hood.... my advice is start off with only like 100 bucks and nothing more. Learn how to recognize patterns in stocks. Look up stock movers for premarket, during market, and after market. When you do lose you only lose so little and yet gain so much knowledge from such a low price.

Unless you're a mathematician or something don't do algorithmic trading. The only real day trading is done by high frequent traders. Day trading is basically gambling.

Just buy the index!!!

If you are going to do active investing, do value investing. Which is buying significantly undervalued companies and holding them until they become significantly overvalued. Which is the strategy warren buffets uses. If you are wrong in day trading, you lose money, if you are wrong in value investing, you just don't make as much money as you hoped.

I've done it off and on for years. Still not very good at it. You can do everything right and still lose money.

I have some e-books on technical Analysis I could send you in a PM. Although I don't trade with Robin Hood I would suggest you treat paper trading with the same amount of respect as if it was a real $50 investment, Otherwise you will never have a true respect for the market! :)
