It's fine. You're starting out.

Maybe look at overseas work, though, once you get a bit of experience.

Always be networking.

Look for someone who could be a mentor.

And contracting once you're established in the field can be like printing money.

Look for people who are doing well in the field and ask them how they do it. Most people are quite willing to help young up and comers if they're sincere and willing to do the hard work required.

Lots of work but if you're savvy it can really pay off.

Uncle Benjamin Franklin told us once that there are two things certain in life: death and taxes.

No matter where you go, you can't avoid taxes. So take a deep breath, pay those taxes and continue onwards. The more you earn, the less it'll sting as long as you maintain a modest lifestyle.

You still have to pay taxes in the military, but for free 3 hots and a cot, and all the ammo you could ask for to shoot during training (if you know who to talk to), that lifestyle is sounding anything but unappealing to me anymore.

Beats working a job I'm not happy with that's paying nowhere near enough for me to afford a cheap apartment.

They need to pay for the women who quit the military by getting pregnant with full pension and benefits, along with their crotchgoblins that'll rob you and scam you in a couple of decades. Just save as much as you can while they inflate away the value of your savings and bail out bankers. The great circle of life.
