This is actually pretty real on a corporate level.

On too many occasions in the 00's and 10's a fat, bitter and broken HR woman would begin her crusade that we needed to literally "create" positions and even departments so that we could have women at the highest levels of management.

I mean, fuck the idea that they were qualified or whether we needed them or not.

Eventually and sadly, some gutless in house attorney would be convinced it was a legitimate way to avoid a random suit and the game began. Within a few years, you would have entire "culture" departments, incredibly bloated human resource organizations along with a seemingly endless stream of "customer success" people.

Each as fucking stupid, and cash draining, as the other. Of course, our executive meetings would soon become hen's nests of incessant yammering about how our employees weren't happy or "fulfilled".

Plot twist: We started with an incredible online and glassdoor reputation that once they were finished was a complete and utter shit show.
