Stories like this where the male is the “victim” is shown more as comedy. People will laugh and joke and say that’s bad but he’s an idiot or something like that.

I think that in most jurisdictions, it doesn't really matter whether the family house is in the name of the husband, the wife, or both. The legal system will typically treat it as joint property.

Rented a few different places as a young guy before buying. My experience with owners is that male landlords are generally chills and only want you to pay the rent on time, they will gladly fulfill their part of the contract like fixing stuff that breaks and whatsnot. Female landladies on the other end... they'd always ask for rent to be paid in advance as if they were entitled to it, would never fulfill their part of the contract, stuff like that.

Eh, it would be “community property”. . Even if she owned it prior to marriage, it was used as the “marital home”. At that point its subject to transmutation. As the property was used to the benefit and furtherance of the marriage.
