That's a woman for you. Lie through their teeth just for more and more. Want, want want, no heed on the well being of others.

Stories like this where the male is the “victim” is shown more as comedy. People will laugh and joke and say that’s bad but he’s an idiot or something like that.
If he were a female there would be conversations on the news with psychologists and leading feminists all saying how this needs to stop, how here’s just another example of men using and lying to women etc etc etc

Of course it's other women saying that, so...

I think that in most jurisdictions, it doesn't really matter whether the family house is in the name of the husband, the wife, or both. The legal system will typically treat it as joint property.

No, what I think is being described here is that the woman owned the house, and the husband, not knowing this, was somehow tricked into paying rent for 10 years, possibly to a third party. And the wife was just taking that rent money and keeping it
[–]beatles-lover5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, that makes sense. Although presumably the wife was using the phony rent money in large part to make mortgage payments.

So if they’re married would the house be half his if they divorce?
[–]beatles-lover1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This isn't legal advice, but I'm pretty sure that in most jurisdictions, generally speaking the answer is "yes." That for the most part, the courts ignore whose name the property is in and decide if its "community property." If a house is nominally owned by one spouse but the other spouse has been contributing to the mortgage payments, I'm pretty sure it would be seen as community property.

Now that'd be interesting. She thought she was paying off the house solely for herself, but was actually tricking the husband into paying off the mortgage for the house they'd both be entitled to.

And you're all being tricked by a meme..

To truly experience marriage simply buy a house for a woman you hate.

3 day Comma? Comma? And the Mainstream Media wonder why they're so despised by many nowadays. I'm not even a native English speaker, and that error is already bothering me to no end.

Rented a few different places as a young guy before buying. My experience with owners is that male landlords are generally chills and only want you to pay the rent on time, they will gladly fulfill their part of the contract like fixing stuff that breaks and whatsnot. Female landladies on the other end... they'd always ask for rent to be paid in advance as if they were entitled to it, would never fulfill their part of the contract, stuff like that.

Im guessing he was the only one paying the rent money and it all just went into her account. how could he not know though?
[–]Dat_Azz_Spanker0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That ranks right up there with Lorena Bobbitt!
I had a coworker whose wife was 11 years older than him with two kids from previous marriage. They rent the house from her mother who also lives with them...

Report her for tax fraud. Bet she didn’t pay taxes on the rental income. Otherwise he would of know in their joint tax returns.
