Needless to say, the comments overwhelmingly condemn this. The headline evokes the intended emotional reaction.
It does make sense though if their stance is that a fetus isn't a child. Assault (and I'm sure battery) charges cover the attack, but as far as the fetus is concerned, to the NY state legislature it is no different than aborting it through medical means.
Of course, the logic of the law isn't my issue with it and my beliefs on fetus life aside, what the fuck Fox News?

Not sure what you mean? Usually Fox headlines are trying to poke holes in leftist policies. Just look at the wordage used - 'child'. The way I read it was "you can punch a pregnant woman and kill her child, but in New York it'd only be assault on the woman". Kinda like they were saying 'are you seeing this fucked up shit?'

Thats what always bothers me about abortion laws. You can abort a fetus that is almost to term and it isn't murder, yet if a pregnant woman is killed it can be considered a double murder.

only women have legal control over life and death of their unborn child.
Man has no say. Once born, the man she tags as the father is legally responsible for the child even if the child is not biologically his.
Men no say, no rights, only responsibility. But women are oppressed? lol

They (the members at ALEC, of which Rupert Murdoch is one) want to eliminate 4th amendment rights so they can steal your resources.
Emotional lines like this soften the public up, they think "child" and not see the real reasons behind it. So, when abortion is outlawed, you don't connect it to the cop who empties your wallet and searches your car and spies through your phone without a warrant.
These guys are deceptive assholes.
