I remember vividly some girl in college saying that I don’t “get girls” and to watch this show to “learn” more about them... like they are these special creatures or something. Anyway, it formed many of my negative ideas about women. The women in this show are completely self absorbed, incredibly conniving, materialistic, and seemingly without REAL worry. They try to support one another but it ends up feeling like they really couldn’t care less. They try to show off their supposed “interpersonal savvy” and “emotional intelligence” but it comes across as a little more than a bunch of pep talks and pity party’s without adult-like genuine consideration of consequences of their own behavior. More akin to “sleep over” talk. They try to be unashamedly tough. It seems they never have conversations about anything other than relationships. And it’s all about them trying to have “fun” in the city. It’s not just shallow behavior but it’s incredibly one-dimensional. There is shockingly very little to them. It’s all about “adulting.” It seems all they care about is relationships. They don’t ever have any truly intellectual conversation or they can never be truly “off.” They always feel the need to be “on” and to always be “working on themselves.” It’s like they have no clue what’s going on in the world around them. They only see things from their collective perspectives. They take the fact that they have good jobs, friends, and support for granted and don’t appreciate how good they have it. They rather whine and manufacture “crises” than live in a stable-rational state. I don’t get this. I don’t get the appeal to this show. I don’t understand the empowerment at all. They all act like they understand the world when in reality they understand very little. Like I am sure none of them would be bogged down with philosophical or science based questions. It’s all just silly time all the time. Vent Over
