Women are really climbing out of the woodworks.

My married friends were trying to set me up a while back. The girl was very cute in a young sort of way but maybe not that beautiful. Hell it took a lot of prodding from my friend just to get me to initiate and get her number, thought maybe NAWALT (learned that lesson, again.)

I thought I was really hitting it off with this girl but not enough challenge towards the end and she eventually just ignored me and basically rejected me.

When the Coronavirus was just getting started in the US and the lockdowns started, she came out of the woodworks after a year to send me a text asking how I was doing because she was worried about me as her friend/acquaintance.

WTF? We don't talk for a year and you consider me a friend/acquaintance? Instantly set off all my alarms for what she was trying to get from me.

I decided to be polite and told her I was fine and stocked up on goods for a 3-month long siege and that I was happy sitting at home.

That bitch told me I was lucky and wished she could stay at home and that after we stopped talking she had to pick up another job since we last spoke (both jobs involve her being literally in the front lines of fighting coronavirus).

Let me translate that for you:

"Something forced me to take more responsibility for my life. I'm broke and want you to volunteer to support me so I can stop exposing myself to Coronavirus."

Needless to say I didn't respond after such an obvious attempt.

It boils my blood when i receive messages like these. Because i already know they're coming for comfort and how many of the side guys she sent these message to at the same damn time, they're not looking for genuine friendship, they want attention. These messages comes in other forms too, "How is work?", "How etc", "I heard recently etc", "BRO LOOK AT THESE FUNNY RELATING WORKPLACE MEME etc" then the next messages proceed to be about them, ALL about them, when you voice out your opinion they shut you down and pull the conversation back to them. Tell them to go F U C K T H E M S E L V E S.

I limit my contact with women anymore after growing up a bit and I don't have them hanging out like when I was a brazenly degenerate bartender, but these two brief statements were my go-to responses when I was with one and thought that I was being worked, which as I understand now, only ceased when we fell asleep.

These were uttered with slight disgust under them, because honestly, that's how I felt. Disgusted. I'd have more respect for them if they said it like it is or just simply omitted the obvious lie, but yeah good luck waiting for that to ever happen. I'd have more luck teaching inanimate objects to speak.

At this point, in the same situation, I'd probably just say nothing and walk away. No point in reminding her she's full of shit.
