Time thieves

I think we all experience moments like this. A lot still don't recognize it, however.

While in the same room "I can't do/open/unlock/reach (insert menial task here)..." and proceeds to look at me expectantly. Proper response is "Well, that sucks." or "Sucks to be you, I guess" and variations thereof. My personal favorite is to just stare back blankly and say nothing or keep doing what I was already doing.

Another one I have heard a lot is "Do you want to (insert menial task they don't want to do)?" Proper response is "No, not really." Then, watch as they try to figure out how to be mad at you for not wanting to do something they also don't want to do.

It is the same base tactic of fishing for compliments. They put out the bait and wait for a white knight to jump on the hook. Is it really any wonder why they don't have respect for these types of men?

The call it chivalry when it suits them and patriarchy when it doesn't.

Some will take the hint and properly ask for assistance. Others have an ego too fragile to actually ask someone for help, apparently.

Many seem to think properly asking for help, "please", and "thank you" are signs of weakness. NOPE. It is a common courtesy towards their fellow human being! If they want someone to sacrifice their time, focus, effort then they should be willing to sacrifice a bit of their ego, at least!
