Today is the London marathon. I've just seen photos of some of the female "athletes" with full make-up, lipstick, nail varnish etc, posing for photos. 100% fake on every level.

In my country women don't wear as much make up as they seem to in America. The standard amount for those that do wear, makeup is foundation and mascara. So they lie about having even skin and dark lashes.

When American girls came to stay at the dorm I lived in, they would have a full face of make up on just to come out and talk to us. It was really jarring to go from seeing natural faces with freckles and all to full cake face.

Most don't have their nails done. And fake tanning isn't really a thing here except maybe for events if you're tacky or young.

I think its party because life here is super laid back and part because we judge people that put that much effort in.

Can someone here explain to me why makeup is a bad thing? All I’ve gathered from this post is that makeup is “fake.” So what? There’s nothing wrong with letting a woman put on makeup.
