Even happened back then. But the patriarchy was so oppressive! Yeah right.

Imagine being so 'oppressed' that you could claim a child grabbed you, and an army of simps would go lynch them for you. I guess the Wicked Witch of the West was oppressed by her flying monkeys.

I never knew about this. Makes me sad to think about that poor boy being tortured and killed for whistling at a women. We are getting to a point where this is going to happen to any male that whistles or, god forbid, cat calls a lady now.

Today Till wouldn't have been murdered but he would have been #metooed out of college and a productive future. Though as the son of a man hanged for murder and multiple rapes his future probably wouldn't have been that bright. Stats are hard to find but a study out of CT suggested something that Till would have been three times more likely to have run ins with the law due to his father's incarceration.

She will be praised by Feminists for her role in the Civil Rights movement...forget Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks....if not for her lies leading to Emmet Till's death there would be no Civil Rights movement.
After all, female hamstering even attributes the start of the U.S. Civil War in the 1860's to Harriet Beecher Stowe writhing Uncle Tom's Cabin and the uproar it created at the time...forget about State's Rights and all that other crap...

His father raped and killed women in the military and was executed for it.

Yeah
In 1945, Mamie received notice from the Department of Defense informing her, without a full explanation, that her husband had been killed during army service in Italy. She later said that she was only told that his death was due to "willful misconduct" and noted that bureaucracy had frustrated her attempts to learn anything more.[5] In fact, Louis Till had been court-martialed on charges of the murder of an Italian woman and the rape of two others in Civitavecchia, in Italy. After a lengthy investigation, he was convicted and was executed by hanging near Pisa on July 2, 1945.[5][6] But the details of Till's execution only fully emerged ten years later, after the murder of his son Emmett and the subsequent trial for that crime

Does that make it ok to what happened to his son?
[–]jecammack0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Did anyone say that it did? I think it is relevant in a similar way that bringing up the fact that the Law Vegas shooter's father was a multi-felon. If his father was a rapist and murderer them half of his genes came from a rapist and murderer. No one bats an eye when people suggest alcoholism is genetic.
I'm curious to know if anyone else heard her make this confession along with Timothy Tyson and what she actually said to him.
Either way the men who killed him shouldn't have.
