I went house shopping with a woman I knew was cheating on me. I didn’t promise anything but alluded to the possibility of a proposal / cohabitation by saying that I wanted her input on decisions that would affect us etc...

I found a place that was a dump, literally downwind of a landfill and told her I’d be putting an offer in ASAP which started a fight (naturally) and I kept pushing it to see how far and selfishly she would take it. She gave an ultimatum and left, the next day I drew up some fake offer papers and sent a photo of them to her. She ended the relationship and I told her to come over and get her stuff.

Bought one of the previous houses we walked through that she liked. No contact since, but she has written me letters (unopened and trashed) at my new address.
