I have never been a fan of the whole family thing in the first place. As soon as I started thinking about it, it was obvious to me that I wanted to be alone. Also, they way families were depicted in media never made any impact on me.

Now that I live alone, I realize that back when I lived with parents, what caused discomfort was the constant invasion of my personal space. I absolutely don't want to tolerate other people telling me what to do and when to things when I'm at home, or indirectly influencing those things. Entering a long-term relationship would imply the same kind of personal space invasion, and I can't imagine benefits of them to be worth tolerating that.

In addition to that, I'm 23 and I've been watching anime since I was 14, and it affected me a lot. The contrast between how female characters were portrayed there and how girls actually looked and acted in real life left a strong impression, eventually making me unable to find almost any women attractive, both physically and personality-wise. Well, it's not that surprising, since leading female characters in anime are most of the time crafted to be extremely attractive. It's just that the contrast between something that is clearly not real and real life lead not to projection of traits of fictional characters onto real people, but realization that reality could never be like that and desire to check out of it.

1981 here. I think that the obvious programming by itself isnt the real issue as long as you are able to learn from expierence or in my case observing family drama as a kid. People getting divorced left and right. Getting told by my uncles to never get married etc.

The ability to see your own mistakes and to make the conscious decision to never repeat them is what changed me in the end.

It would be interesting from a scientific standpoint to look at men who are unable or simply not willing to learn from experience because labels like mangina or simp dont do this phenomenon justice.

Mine had to be my Dad. I still think he is an amazing person but I remember toward the end of my marriage my wife at the time would say this phrase "why can't you be more like your dad?" because unlike my dad I had my mothers more dominant personality traits, but I remember as a kid always wanting to be like him so I bent myself that way as much as possible, but it wasn't me. I guess I was always born to be wild instead of domesticated. I've accepted that.

After hitting 18 i turn my back on everyone i know and i'm surviving on my own in my way........

My retard family and this retard society is enough to learn about the so called family image

Trust me there is no drama like a drama that people in society make......u can see it live and everyone want to participate in it.......

I was born in 74 so I grew up where men were somewhat competent but then it changed to men are Oafs, maybe mid 80's to early 90's. I also grew up being told that because I am white, I am bad. Because white people are bad. And because you are white, you are therefore a racist. And because you are white and you go to work every day, you are bad because you are privileged. Sorry now I'm ranting.

Beauty and the Beast is what did me in. I thought girls were antagonistic to me because they liked me. Some did, but most didn't. Of course never the ones I wanted to like me haha. But that whole thing where the man is flawed and needs to win the heart of a woman. Or the man is great he just needs a woman to mesh with him to be complete, or something like that. It would be impossible to self analyze but my guess is it was Disney type movies where I got the idea that I had to "win a woman".

my mother was actually a good mother. she was a great cook and hard working around the home and garden. she grew vegetables etc and kept everything nice and tidy. my original very positive look on women came from there, it then got reinforced by media ( movies, novels, crappy tv shows, etc ) and other people parroting what the media says. it also doesnt help that you hear way more criticism about men than about women in our society.

i had to gradually remove all that programming and uncover the truth. looking back as an adult i realized the truth is while my mom was a good mom for her kids, the bedroom was dead. as a kid i also was never bothered by the fact that my dad was married before that and got divorce raped so hard it almost killed him. so yeah I wont be him. what a terrible score. first try: divorce rape. second try: good mom, but dead bedroom. fuck that. I want more from life than this shit.

Pretty much the same shows. Combine that with having a mom and dad, who both worked, provided and kicked ass, and you have the perfect tool. I was under the impression that everyone wanted what those shows had, that women werent the vile creatures they have been proven to be. It always confused me why girls wanted the guys that treated them like shit. Took me 28 years to figure it out. They love being treated like shit.

TV shows and brainwashed parents. Super beta dad who was totally submissive to my mom and to society in general. It's crazy how many mental beatings that my dad has taken and still takes from people and he still doesn't get it. He is sickingly beta. I think that the spice girls and those boy bands in the late 90s also fucked things up really badly. The reason why things won't get better is because of blue pill faggots who believe in everything they are told and who are too scared to live their own lives.
