Why do I always get notifications for this Reddit?

You probably hit the "Join" button on the wrong sub and ended up joining here. You should see the "Joined" button in the top right of the sidebar. Click on it to un-join from this sub (on mouseover it should change to "Leave") and you should no longer see posts of it on your frontpage and notifications.

Often it will tell you what the sub is similar to to justify why it is showing you, not much in your post history to explain it, hentai maybe?

You can block the sub but this doesn’t help me!

You're on the interwebs. If you want help you need to ask for it straight away. Flapping you eyes and showing cleavage has no effect. We can't see it.
