I was scrolling through my Reddit feed and saw a Ciri cosplay from The Witcher 3. Fantastic game, btw if any of you have not checked it out.

In this picture, I noticed something. When women are modeling something, or placing themselves in a position to be judged solely on their appearance (I truly believe there’s more extreme levels of this that some women choose to achieve), they can have all of these different poses that they contort their bodies into. They can be wearing anything, as long as they can convince others that it looks good.

But, the thing that tends to stay the same is their mouth expression. I thought about this for awhile after seeing aforementioned Ciri cosplay. Why do they have their mouth slightly open? This is especially the case in shots where they appear to be looking off at some other landmark. Is it to appear brooding? Deep? More than meets the eye?

Once you notice this, I’m sure you will be unable to not see it like I have. If someone can give me a reasonable or well thought out explanation as to why they love to slightly open their mouth when posing, please comment below lol.
