Women capitalize on the male attachment to family. It's part of society's brainwashing of men not just to pander to women but also to be "good fathers". This way, the ex-wives have the upper hand in terms of how much they can torture those "good fathers" and also how much they can squeeze from what's left of them. So, ironically, the "safest" men are the bad boys who pump and dump and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.
