Why on god's green earth would you want an ex back? For pride? Having dated a girl for 7 years who decided to cheat and ghost me - anyone is welcome to her. She was a manipulative liar. She wanted kids before she 30 too. Can you imagine if I was a simp? She'd have took 50% of my possessions and childcare maintenance.

It's just not worth it. GYOW. Enjoy life. Get a promotion. A new job. A holiday. Stuff like that rather than chasing women, especially ex's that have upset or hurt you.

Exes are exes for a reason, so totally forget that one. Seriously, move on, and be sure she already has.

Now, you raise an interesting question, and a perfectly fair one. So let's begin...

The first thing to realize is there isn't any particular woman you really want, that really wants you and is committed to a serious relationship. So you are, quite simply, projecting your hopes and dreams on to some future (or past) woman.

So, let's examine those hopes and dreams?

I'll presume you're smart enough to move on from the past, so what do you hope for, from this future woman?

If what you're hoping for ties into proven reality then great; you're in luck! There's someone for everyone, lots of fish in the sea and no reason you can't fine a gal of your very own!

For about 4 to 7 years.

At that point the sex will be stale for both of you, especially her but she'll be pretty fat by then so maybe you too. She'll "lose interest in sex" (with you), and be sniffing around for other options, or just enjoying life without you. This is very easy for her to do, without requiring any bad behavior on your part, as legally and socially everything is on her side, and you're the asshole she's better off without, obviously.

If you were married or living together for too long you will "owe her" money, called "ali-money" or "alimony", which she will be legally entitled to for the rest of your life if she doesn't remarry, along with 50% or more of your assets, inc your old age pension.

If you have children she can block your access, especially with a false accusation of child abuse that nobody will investigate but everyone will agree there's no smoke without a fire. Fight it and you find yourself hiring, against your will, a whole bunch of the court's cling-ons and "experts" who will be of the expert opinion that you should hire them some more, until you run out of money.

Once you're out of money and assets the wise old men and gentleladies of the family court will assess all of the evidence, weigh every factor, give great consideration to the best interests of the child and then award you visits of your own children every other weekend and half the holidays.

They will not actually enforce this, as that would upset the real parent, which would upset the children - and the children's interests must come first, obviously.

So, for a while and when she's in the mood you get to bang a hot chick that loves you, you get to see a child or two born which might well be yours, and you can say they are, and then you can make big plans, get some big debts, get a nice house and get divorced.

Obviously she needs the house and much of your income, as she has your children and their interests must come first.

So the question is, does that sound appealing to you, or not?

Lots of men still do it; it's a popular option and you can crack jokes at work about how the ex is "busting your balls" with alimoney and "child" support, and you can grin wryly, and they'll grin back, because it's funny.

Or perhaps you don't think it's funny to be middle-aged and poor, with no assets and the more you earn the more you owe your ex? In which case MGTOW might be for you.

Once you go far enough in either direction the very idea the other direction was even a possibility will seem pretty weird. However you're young and you're approaching that cross-roads, so some random stranger typed all this, hoping it will help you make the right choice.

If you're not convinced, then why not date a few of them. If seeing someone getting his hands burnt on a hot stove is enough to convince you then by all mean...stick your hands on the hot stove and experience the pain for yourself.

Regret is, like loneliness, a state of mind. Which will make you suffer. You'll only know in retrospect if a decision was the right one or not. And if it's not, you can either whine and complain about it. Which won't change anything. Or say: ok, that was stupid. I won't make that mistake another time. And for me this goes with every decision. Small ones or big.

If you have to work to keep her love she doesn't love you anyway. And in my experience, if she doesn't love you she'll just keep treating you with more and more contempt until you can't take it anymore and just give up. Save yourself the time, money, and stress, I wish I had. My only regret is wasting my 20's chasing women.
