Despite the others here dissing the wisdom of bob...
It aligns nicely with "don't listen to what they say, watch what they do"
But some here are still not wise.

I remember I saw a video and the interviewer had asked him if he had millions and the comment section was making fun of bob.

I think this is some of the best advice anybody can hear.
I believe social media as exponentially personified this piece of advice. Look at how "brave" people are when texting or behind social media. What most people say behind those things, they'd NEVER do. It's just easier to say those things now because you aren't face to face with another human being.

Tolls gunna troll
I know... I'm guilty coz I troll too...
Some people here know how big of an ass I can be.
Every now and then we all gotta "feel human"

Yeah I'll question the 'wisdom' of an individual from a group with an average IQ of 70.
An individual who died from a stubbed toe because he didn't want to have it treated.
An individual whose entire legacy is smoking weed, being indolent and bad regae music.
Anyone who follows such a 'role model' deserves the inevitable Fate that follows.

There's always one of you.. no he wasn't perfect and no he wasn't a pinnicle of education. But to completely disregard him like that is pretty ignorant. The man was no scientist and given his background makes it all the more impressive some of the insights he thought of. By your own words a man from a group with an average iq of 70 managed to think up lines and qoutes such as "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds." Basically concluding the 'slavery' most people feel in a capitalistic society is mostly induced by ourselves and we are our own slavers.
"I have no education. I have inspiration. If I was educated I would be a damn fool.” again the fact this man came to the conclusion that higher education isn't purely education but education of an agenda. Which we are now seeing today decades later with all the feminism and social sciences in colleges now. "The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for." "In this great future, you can’t forget your past." “If you’re white and you’re wrong, then you’re wrong; if you’re black and you’re wrong, you’re wrong. People are people. Black, blue, pink, green – God make no rules about color; only society make rules where my people suffer, and that why we must have redemption and redemption now.” Sure I wouldn't go to him for mechanical advice but he always never claimed to be wise in that. For a uneducated 70 iq man from the 40s he certainly seemed to be at least somewhat wise. Also his legacy has nothing to do with weed. You act like he was the only big pothead artist at the time. If that was the case why isn't Willie Nelson the poster boy for weed music? Most of his latency was based on self reflection and better oneself. Judging ourselves before others and striving to ensure yourself and those around you are happy. “Live for yourself and you will live in vain; live for others, and you will live again.” he wasn't the smartest or most wise man around but he was relatable enough to most people that his words became powerful to them. I don't disagree but feel you're always selling him a bit short. But to each is own, wish you the best.

Your point is that people are resistant to waste time reading walls of text from an underinformed rambling SoiBoi?

Whether he did or did not, the quote still encapsulates the double standards that we see today

Eh... not really. I love the sound of rain, the smell of freshly wet soil, even the feel of raindrops on my head, to a point. I don't love the feeling of cold, soggy clothes clinging to my skin, so I use an umbrella. I love the feeling of the sun on my face and the mood boost that comes with bright days and vitamin D, but I don't love the feeling of sunburn or have any great desire for skin cancer, so if it's too sunny I seek shelter after a while. Apparently this makes me a hypocrite and untrustworthy?
Yeah, it's a dumb quote and I really hope he didn't say it. If anything, it should be turned on its head as an example of MGTOW philosophy: we may love the feeling of being in love and appreciate the tenderness of a woman, but we don't love and will not stand for losing everything to divorce rape and being expected to sacrifice everything for the sake of some princess who is incapable of appreciating anything we do for her.

You seem to be under the impression that we missed that point. It is a perfect example of MGTOW philosophy and that is why I shared it here.
[–]Darth_Toenail-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
For different reasons than the point I gave. It's exactly the opposite perspective on the words in this quote.
[–]slayer-booty[S] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As a MGTOW you develop the ability to read between the lines. I thought that was obvious

At least no one attributed it to Shakespeare this time. Saw it quoted on Facebook back in 2015 and on Reddit as early as 2012. I prefer to just take it as a piece of advice.

You say you love sun, but you seek shelter when it is shining.
Said the guy who died from malignant melanoma.
He made a lot of catchy music, but the guy was retarded, whether it was from all the dope he smoked or from birth. Not wanting so much of things you love that it becomes pathological is a sign of sanity.
