Relevance from the past - the WW2 generation. I read lord of the flies and if someone wants to understand how devolution happens, read that book with a red pill slant. But, then again the past is another country- they do things differently there.

Odd I read Don Quixote and see a man out of touch with reality holding on to something that is already considered dead and gone. Everything in the story seems to be a mismatch but funny I suppose. I’d go with Cien anos de soledad myself, but read it in the original Spanish
