Welcome to reality. We are brought up to believe that if you extend yourself and provide for your partner, they will appreciate you and love you for it. I have learnt it the hard way. A woman cannot love you if you keep doing things for her and treating her like a princess. They are naturally attracted to a man who has a strong sense of himself, who is unwavering in his beliefs, and doesnt give in too easily.

I will tell you why. The brain chemistry is such that, they always keep wondering if they have the best guy to provide for them (this is evolutionary. Women who did not think this way did not survive to pass on their genes in the harsh conditions of our ancestors). Anytime anything comes easily, they ask themselves "Hmm, why is he doing this for me. Perhaps he wants something from me. Wait, perhaps he isnt all he is hyped out to be. Perhaps he isnt that great. Oh, am I settling for someone thats not the best I can get?"

She got mad because I shopped for myself as well.

She wasnt mad that you shopped for yourself as well. She believes thats why she is mad. She doesnt understand why she is mad, and hence she makes up an excuse for herself. In reality, she is mad because the unsatisfaction is gnawing at her. "This is too easy, no fun in this" thinking is creeping in.

But if you believe the excuses she makes for her being mad (which she doesnt fully understand why), then you will spend the rest of your life trying to conform to the imaginary excuses she makes. Next time you will only shop for her. The time after that you will spend more money on her. Then you will believe that you were not listening to what she said with full interest. Next time, it will be because you spend way too much time with your friends. After that, she will be mad that you focus so much on your own family. Further on, it will be because you are not spontaneous in bed. I can keep this list going on until the end of days. Because I have lived this nightmare for a very long time.

My life turned around when I stopped giving a shit. That's how I found mgtow. You have to open your eyes brother. You cannot make a girl happy, because she has a void inside herself she cannot fill and she doesnt know why. You can sacrifice your whole life on her, and it will be like throwing a drop into an ocean of voidness. Wont make a dent.
