For many, this is a place to vent at what they consider the inherently unfavorable dynamic faced by men in long term romantic relationships. Others simply use it to support other men who are going through breakups/divorce, or to encourage and promote hobbies that are typically enjoyed by men.

I have found that for me, LTRs add nothing of value to my life. I am happier when I am single and have seen far too many men suffer from the consequences of divorce initiated by their wives. I dont believe all relationships are inherently bad, just that its not something I want to pursue anymore.

Honestly though, I think this subreddit is like 90% shit posting and at least a quarter of the users have never actually dated anyone. Some idiots on here who just constantly post about politics (WTF does supporting Trump have to do with being MGTOW?) and women=bad, but because of rule 6 the mods never do shit about it. These guys just want to post memes and farm karma, or try to push a political ideology on people who are often socially isolated and therefor more vulnerable to manipulation.

For a more moderate look at men going their own way, you can check out r/MGTOW2. Despite less content, what they do have is actually moderated to create a cohesive community that supports men who choose a single lifestyle.

Earth to idiot: if we are "traumatized" doesn't that imply some outside force did that to us? And thus, someone or something is likely to "blame"? Just because you "should," doesn't mean you do. Have a nice life. I'll go live mine. We'll see whose life ends up being satisfying and who ends up regretting their decisions. Hint: I've been living this lifestyle for fifty years or more, and haven't regretted it, yet.

To the other guys here, that realize "trauma is a real thing" and that blaming the victim of trauma for withdrawing from both women's company, and society's "kind embrace" is just wrong on so many levels, I would suggest a book to read.
