For titles like old school crawlers but updated, Legend of Grimrock 1 and 2 are pretty great.
For true classics, the Gold Box D&D games are on GOG.com and are made to work with modern systems. These include games like Pool of Radiance, Eye of the Beholder, and ~15 other titles.
The classic Wizardry games are supposedly abandonware now and are (legitimately) available for free with a Google search. 6, 7, and 8 -- the final trilogy in the main series -- are available on Steam and GOG. There are also free ripoffs (with original content mirroring the classics) of 1-5 available on Android called Wadroid.
For a really good start with a true classic I'd recommend the D&D title Dungeon Hack. It's straightforward with only one character, real-time combat and totally random and customizable everything (floor numbers, hunger settings, and all kinds of other options). I think it's part of the Forgotten Realms Collection Part 2 on GOG.com.
