In the previous rape case, which collapsed, again the police failed to notice evidence which would have cleared the man, even though they had it. The man was put through 2 years of hell before being cleared.

I have two friends that were accused of rape. Neither of them did it of course but one went to court and the other didn't go any further than giving the police a statement. I believe one was a case of buyers remorse for the girl and the other a deliberate and calculated attemp to screw said guy over and exclude him from seeing his daugher. We need to be very careful and always obtain and keep consent via text or something as insurance.

District Attorneys do this shit to increase conviction rates. They figure eventually he will plea bargain to a lesser charge if they drag it out and scare the shit out of him. Start out with sexual assault charge and wind up with a plea for dating violence to keep from going to prison.
