At 38 (now 50), went through a heartbreaking breakup. Realized I'd never have another serious relationship again and it really hurt...temporarily. Guess I was lucky, a little social anxiety mixed with the ability to read people allowed me to take my time. I saw the writing on the wall, and a lot of the women looking for "fairy tale romances" were also the ones bragging about their walks of shame or spending the night in random guy's apartments/dorm rooms. Whenever they got turned down, they moved on within the hour.

Guess it's the same now as I approach 30.
