So, it's been a year and a half since my last relationship and I've come up with a conclusion that it's better to remain this way for financial reasons. I work in a male dominated space and hear stories about married guys, guys dating and the horrors of their financial status and have come up with an income chart for single guys to be considered "wealthy" and married guys.

Single Guys:

- Low income, $30,000/year, no debts : can pay bills, have a little spending money.

-Middle income: $45,000/year, no debts: can pay bills and then some, save money in retirement.

-"high income": $60,000+, no debts: can pay bills, have expensive hobbies, save money for retirement. Plus house, retired at 40-50.

Married Guys:

-Low Income: $60,000/year , tons of debt, mortgage, car loan, no spending money.

-Middle Income: $90,000/year, tons of debt, bigger mortgage, car loanS, little spending money

-High income: $140,000/year, less debt relative to income, even bigger mortgage, luxury cars to impress wifey, expensive private school for kids, modest retirement savings, little spending money, working until death or divorce.

It does not look good. Of course I'm not in a high COL area. The more income married guys have it ALL goes to debt payments or shit wifey has to buy and since she typically stays at home or works some bullshit job making $20k/year the guy's stuck paying the bill.

As a single guy, I make $32,000 a year, expenses are modest, and still have more money in my pocket at the end of the day than the guys working making "six figs" because I don't spend a shitload of money on crap for the wife I don't need or useless crap.

Before you think the grass is greener, it's NOT.
