I was standing under a roof in public when it was raining.

Other people were standing there, also two girls.

I asked them something random to pass time.

They replied.

My mind went blank.

Instead of resenting myself, I just said:

It's meant to be. I am meant to no have any idea what to say and do. I am meant to hope that something happens.

As my brain does not deliver in spite of all the information that is in there, I am meant to be alone.

So I just left.

What I liked about this is that it's not the dreadful back and forth: "I can't" -> "You can". "I hate women" -> "It's just your ego" aka "Don't trust yourself" and on. As soon as you thought you have the final right behaviour someone else or some emotion comes in.

I started an internal dialogue with my brain/nervous system:

If you wanted me to get together with that woman, you would have delivered. You didn't. You have no excuse. And you especially have no right to have regrets later. It's you who failed. I gave you all that was needed. You failed. So shut up.
