Work as an engineer for the gov full time.

Own a food truck and freelance as a web developer on the side. Probably starting up a podcast here soon which won’t generate much revenue itself, but it’ll give me an opportunity to run my own ads for my side hustles.

I’m not particularly happy with the full time job but the benefits are really good and they pay me quite well. It’s a steady job and I’m in no danger of being fired or laid off so I have a lot of job security and can depend on that level of income for the next 10 years at least.

EDIT: the engineering job is 100% remote. If I had to work in Washington, I’d quit immediately. I’m actually moving out to Colorado this fall so I can snowboard, mountain bike, and fly fish whenever I want.

Used to have a decent job for 4 years after graduating. But depression and social anxiety got the best of me and i haven't worked a single day for the past 2 years. My savings are almost gone and i am almost broke. So i guess i have to somehow get out of my dark basement room sometime soon. I don't know.. Will cross that bridge when i get there i guess.

I've run a business for decades. I won't say what it is because it's a popular brand in my space.

But I'll say this: running a successful business is simultaneously one of the most challenging and rewarding pursuits you can experience.

These days, I only work 20 to 25 hours a week. Others do the heavy lifting for me. But when I started the company, it was tough. I had a full-time white collar job, so I built the business during evenings and weekends. 100-hour weeks were common. No social life. No vacations. No free weekends.

It paid off in spades.

I used to work in a corporate environment, and then got moved to a branch in a smaller city. Office politics got so bad (i’m the only guy in the office) that everyone eventually left. I solo’d the operation for months before finally giving up because I noticed that despite HQ gave me the “we’re hiring” notice, there are no recruitment ad for my branch at all. Turns out I was right and they just waiting for me to leave so that they don’t have to pay me anything, but they probably didn’t expect for me to hold out that long because whatever money they saved is going to get offset by the other costs such as rental. Oh well, not my problem anymore.

I’m currently a freelancer. While I don’t enjoy any job security, I earn twice/thrice the amount that I used to before taxes. Things didn’t slow down because of the pandemic and i’m grateful for that. However, moving back to my parents’ place because of the pandemic (at my dad’s request cause he’s stuck in another district because of work and cross-district travel is banned) is probably one of the worst blunders that I’ve ever made because I ended up paying for all the bills and a majority of the groceries, as well as all the miscellaneous expenses. Despite earning more, I didn’t save at all (my savings amount didn’t budge, and I’m quite stressed about it because my money is my source of security.)

I’m depressed and tired (the only goal I hit is the weight-loss goal), can’t wait for the border to reopen so I can move out and live for myself again.

I'm employed and running a full time business at same time as a Automotive Engineer very busy always asking me to work overtime. But focus all FreeTime on Sustainable Energy HVAC Generators and Heaters with my own all in one designs that I sell online.

Yes, several. Plus fully employed. Plus back in school for more education. Packing away every penny towards retirement as I possibly can. Having the time of my life!!!
