This post will be a bit off-topic. It will also get very philosophical. Take heed, job/work satisfaction is the most crucial factor of factors that determine the level of satisfaction and contentment in a man's life. I am making this assertion based on numerous studies and experiments that I shan't be citing here; I leave the reader to explore this further by himself. The reason is simple. The man feels that he is part of something bigger than himself. He believes that his deeds will leave an impact on the world. He gets a sense of purpose, a sense of value, and a sense of meaning. He has a constant need to satisfy his ego. He wants to think that he is more than flesh and bones.

Before we continue, I must emphasize that I am an agnostic. That said, theism tackles this issue indirectly while complicating things further, so let us not go there. The question arises, how to solve the problem of existential crises in the future, given that most jobs will get automated? Assume that you live in the world forthcoming, where through a psychosurgery procedure called amygdalotomy, you get rid of all your desires, including lust. How will you find your sense of belonging here, now that robots are better than humans in every way or form? Won't you feel like a cattle, and won't you think that your existence is pointless?

A real Matrix-like world where robots keep human brains in jars and feed them with euphoric drugs. We will suffer a fate worst than farm animals harvested for their meat. Picture being kept alive just for the sake of existence; doesn't it sound bleak?
