It's not social pressure,. It's a biological pressure. To make bonds to create a family to raise a half self genes children to perpetuate yourself into the future. This biological pressure is called love. And the crave to be loved means that it searchs for guarantees that's the female won't get impregnated by another man. And the female unconsciously guarantees that the man will be there for at least some years to provide food and shelter for their children.

I see people I know got married in the last year or so. It appears to be so happy in their marriage. But for me, I know the truth. I’m avoiding marriage and working on my self. I want to get a Corvette in a couple years.

That's the problem, you are questioning your own decisions based on society's opinion that might come. You do you, your life, your choice. And if someone mocks you for being alone, ask him how much he is spending on wife and kids and what does he gets in return, apart from fake satisfaction.

Does biology consult our opinions about whether or not our stomachs should gurgle when we haven't eaten in a while? Or whether yawning is appropriate to sleep deprivation or flinching to a sudden injury?

So then why would it listen to our opinions about sex and mating? It feels the way it feels because that's how biology ensures maximum propagation of homo sapiens. Whether you listen to that feeling or not is up to you.
