I feel like many of the issues that cause a rift between men and women is this cultural idea that men's issues are easier to understand than women's. By that I mean, it is totally acceptably for a woman to speak with authority on men's issues and the problems that effect men. They are allowed to think that they know what men go through, and because they do not actually know they do not have a full scope of the problems we face. With this incomplete picture they assume that men have some kind of magic male privilege that gets them out of having to slog threw all the crap they do, when in reality they just do not get to see much of the garbage we face in our day to day lives.

Men on the other hand are not allowed to assume familiarity with the opposite sex. Any man who attempts to claim they understand what a woman goes through is ridiculed and belittled because they could never understand what a woman goes through.

This causes one gender to define both genders. By unknowingly down playing the men's issues, women become convinced they are being discriminated against. I do think that it is unknowingly, I don't think there is really malicious intend.

Something I have been thinking about wanted to see what you all think.

TLDR: Women "know" what men deal with and men could never understand what women deal with.
