Hey guys I read about that app yesterday that allowed women to rate and mark men with hash tags. I just wrote up this email to send them and I was thinking that you guys would appreciate it as well.

Yes it is Canadian legislation, but it applies to all Canadian citizens, not just the ones who are resident in Canada. Even if you aren't Canadian you should still send it in, as they in all likelihood will not ask for proof (too much time and resources to verify).

To Whom it may concern,

As you may or may not know the 1985 Privacy Act of Canada is as described within the legislature "An Act to extend the present laws of Canada that protect the privacy of individuals and that provide individuals with a right of access to personal information about themselves"

The full text of the act can be found at http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/P-21/

Chapter 12, Access to Personal Information states that

12 (1) Subject to this Act, every individual who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act has a right to and shall, on request, be given access to

(a) any personal information about the individual contained in a personal information bank; and

(b) any other personal information about the individual under the control of a government institution with respect to which the individual is able to provide sufficiently specific information on the location of the information as to render it reasonably retrievable by the government institution.

(2) Every individual who is given access under paragraph (1)(a) to personal information that has been used, is being used or is available for use for an administrative purpose is entitled to

(a) request correction of the personal information where the individual believes there is an error or omission therein;

(b) require that a notation be attached to the information reflecting any correction requested but not made

Under the Electronic Commerce Act 2000 found here http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statutes/english/elaws_statutes_00e17_e.htm section 4 and 5 dictate that "Information or a document to which this Act applies is not invalid or unenforceable by reason only of being in electronic form. 2000, c. 17, s. 4." "A legal requirement that information or a document be in writing is satisfied by information or a document that is in electronic form if it is accessible so as to be usable for subsequent reference. 2000, c. 17, s. 5."

Please consider this email a formal written request of any and all information you have regarding me failure to do so is subject to penalty under section 68 (2) of The Privacy Act,
