The article says male genital cutting is:

taunted an effective biomedical intervention

They got that right. It's certainly a "taunt", because it's just not the truth. (The word they were looking for was "touted"). Cut men are still required to wear condoms to prevent STDs. Don't these people wonder why there is such a high STD rate in places where men are cut? Just stupid, I guess.

As for going "terribly wrong", there is no such thing as a "successful" voluntary genital cutting on a minor.

These parents are solely to blame, for allowing (and probably encouraging) their son to have this unnecessary surgery, even with his medical condition. 14 years down the drain.

So sad. I hope this practice comes to an end soon. Our 20 year old son is intact and has no issues with his natural penis.

imagine the scene where he died, play it like a movie in your head.....imagine it's an actual film....it would be an atrocity occuring before your eyes....but.....oh wait...right, duh!! how stupid of me to think this is wrong, it's just a young boy....a few hundred dying every year like this....totally worth it.
