False rape accusation

Me and my bf are both 17. We have been dating for two years. He dated a girl before me for 11 months. He was 14/15 when they dated and they lost their virginities to each other, so sex definitely happened. When they broke up she moved across the country. When me and him hit our 1 year mark, she told the police he raped her. He is the most gentle person I know and has never asked me to do anything I don’t feel comfortable with. She gave a list of witnesses who all said that my boyfriend would never do that and his ex never said anything to them. The head prosecutor or whatever in my area forced the police to investigate further bc of how bad it would look if they didn’t. There is no proof that consent wasn’t given. She is claiming it happened one time over an 8 month period, and she doesn’t know exactly when. Even though everyone knows she is lying, including the police, there is still a trial and it’s so frustrating. People are finding out and it’s ruining his name. After he’s found innocent, she’s gonna be allowed to walk away and nothing is gonna happen. It’s so angering because I know 1 person who’s been sexually assaulted and I know 4 people who have falsely accused someone, one of them twice. Real victims suffer when girls like my boyfriends ex lie. It’s so frustrating.
